What we collect when you book with Jack Home Services, why we collect it, and how it's protected.

Last updated 15 September 2026 · Processed under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)

What we collect

When you submit a booking, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and the residential address where the work will happen. If you attach reference photos of the job, we collect those too.

If you create an account, we store your login email and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

We also log anonymous, non-identifying activity: which page you're on, which service you looked at, how far you got through the booking form, so we can see where the booking process is breaking down and fix it. This is tied to a random ID stored in your browser, not to your identity, unless you go on to submit a booking.

Why we collect it

Your name, phone number and address are used for one purpose: to match you with a specialist and get them to the right door at the right time. Your email is used to send you a booking confirmation and, if you choose to create an account, to let you log back in.

We do not collect more than a booking requires. If a field on the form is marked optional, leaving it blank never blocks your booking.

Who sees it

Your booking details are visible to Jack Home Services staff who manage bookings, and to the specific specialist or team assigned to your job they need your address and contact number to arrive and do the work.

We use Resend to deliver booking-confirmation emails and Supabase to store booking data securely. Neither is given permission to use your information for anything beyond delivering that email or storing that record.

We do not sell your information to third parties, and we do not share it with advertisers.

How it's protected

Booking data is stored in a Postgres database with row-level security enabled only signed-in Jack Home Services staff and the specific provider assigned to a job can read a booking's details; nobody can browse or export the full customer list through the public booking form.

The public booking form can create a booking, but it cannot read back anyone else's bookings, past or present.

Your rights under POPIA

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it's wrong, or ask us to delete it once there's no active or recent booking it relates to. To do any of this, contact us using the details below.

If you created an account, you can view and update your own contact details at any time by logging in.

Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to save an in-progress booking (so a dropped connection or an accidental refresh doesn't make you start over) and to remember a random, non-identifying session ID used for the activity logging described above. Neither is a tracking cookie shared with any third party, and both can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
